Jeff “Smitty” Smith and his wife Denise recently hosted a Phi Gam mini reunion in Bradenton, FL. Joining them were Doug and Leslie Peterson, Dan and Nancy Salvesen, and Steve and “Drifty” Keiser.

Dan came over from Boynton Beach, FL, where he lives most of the year before heading to Speculator, NY in the summer. Recently retired—again—he now has more time for his 12 grandkids and is already looking forward to the 60th reunion.

Doug, in Florida for February, is Professor Emeritus at UConn’s School of Dental Medicine. He continues to teach and work on international cancer care guidelines.

Smitty lives on the 6th fairway of Bradenton Country Club and keeps busy golfing, traveling (including a recent Antarctic trip), and enjoying time with his 7 grandkids. He retired 9 years ago after 42 years as an Oral Surgeon, including 5 in the Navy.

Steve and Drifty escaped snowy Mount Desert Island, ME for Anna Maria Island. Steve retired from the Hinckley Company and now volunteers growing food and fixing boats. Drifty is winding down her property management business.

Dan, Steve, and Smitty were roommates for three years. Sadly, their fourth roommate, Bob “Sudsy” Sudmeyer, couldn’t make it—he stayed in Vermont shoveling snow.

It was a great time, with plans to reunite again in 2026! (And, of course, they'll be at our 60th)
